As Time Goes By

  As Time Goes By
As Time Goes By
September 2011

This is my husband dancing with his grandmother at his sister's wedding. They played Gram's song "As Time Goes By" She and Pop-pop loved Casablanca and that was their song. Pop-pop passed away a few years ago but this was a way to have him be there in our hearts. My husband is the only grandson so this was a special moment for our family.

  A wonderful picture of a very beautiful woman dancing her grandson. She has a far-away look on her face and you just feel as if she is re-living a moment in the past. What a special picture this will be for all of her family.

  What a great moment to capture. The lighting works so well in this and the expression is wonderful. A look of sad remembrance.

I do have one suggestion I would clone out the bottle in the BG just above and right of the hat.

  A truly wonderful memorable image Jodi. This shot will be cherished for sure.

I would suggest a crop of the right side just behind his back. That area adds nothing to the image and it would place the couple in a the sweet spot.

  I smiled as soon as I saw you post this on FB. What a fantastic moment you captured! I'm for a crop like Dale suggested. Also for the clone and maybe some vignetting on the right side after the crop. :~)

  Hi Jodi;
What a touching shot and the emotion sentiment is tangible. This is sure to be a fav forever.
My first thought was crop/clone in the manner suggested.

  I've come too late to add anything original to this image Jodi so would just say ditto to all those who said 'memorable, touching, emotion, sentiment, special moment' yes they all fit this so different image. Nicely done.

  I agree with all of Peter's adjectives..love the far away look of remembrance in Gram's face and the endearing look your husband is giving her.

One other little tweak for you would be to darken the guys face and head on the other side of your husband.

  You really did capture some raw emotion in this one. One can almost feel her remembering her husband and she does look lost in thought!

  a very touching moment captured, the look and knowing the song being played says it all. I agree about the bottle being clone out but for me and I am the only one mentioning it is... the right hand of the person arm and camera. I would recrop, the othe people dancing adds to the story. great job jodie

  I too am coming in very late on this, so will leave the critiquing to what has been said and just say that the tender emotion and far away look you captured immediately caught my eye. Brings tears to my eyes actually.
