Whimsical Weathervane

  Whimsical Weathervane
Whimsical Weathervane
****
There is a neighborhood near ours, whose original homeowners (soldiers after WWII) were allowed to construct any style of home they chose.
There are Southern Plantation styles, a castle, etc. The house that this airplane sits above is circular(no corners).
I used filters and effects in Ulead Photo Explorer 8.0 and PSE 2 to go beyond sepia, keeping the tiles red, and choosing a "whimsical" sky color.
Because the main feature is unusual, I'm putting this image in the "Catch-All" category.

Stunning colors and very interesting design on this building, love the plane that they've used for the weathervane instead of the usual rooster or arrow. I guess they literally cut corners in the building's construction. Great work here Mary.

Tiia, Stef, Tammy, Avril, Heather, Bobby, and Rey, thanks so much for your positive response to this.
Bobby, you're right: more housing codes = less creative construction!
And, Rey ~ "I guess they literally cut corners in the building's construction." LOL! :D

Kiki, I just found your work comment tonight. Our computer needed some upgrades so I had to live without an Internet connection for a couple of days. Oh, the horror!! ;-D
I still say your company is doing worthy work (as I said under your great giraffe shot), and you should take pride in being a part of it. But I agree --- weekends reign!

"Whimsical" color for your sky, too! :D !!! Cool image!

Pom, I'll put the Floral Park (real name) neighborhood at the top of the "to-do" list for when (not just if) we meet!
Thanks for checking this out, Pomma-llama. Glad you enjoyed its quirky qualities. :-D
