Elements Of Design

While in L.A. I made 4450 images. Many were 'Drive-bys' like this one.
If only I had a chance to stop into Walt Disney's Concert Hall, home to L.A.'s Philharmonic Orchestra I know I would of been blown away! Not only for the pleasure of listening to the most incredible sound but for the awe-inspiring, state of the art symphony in steel architecture!
Most of the exterior was designed with stainless steel and given a matte finish. The Founder's Room and Children's Amphitheather were designed with highly polished mirror-like panels and some residents from neighbouring condos suffered from glare caused by reflecting sunlight. Also the resulting heat made some unbearably warm, causing air-conditioning costs to skyrocket. To eliminate the 'eye sores' the Gehry team dulled these panels by lightly sanding them.

Thanks Robert- wish I would of asked..

Thanks Carla.
Yep, drive by shootings started to get good after awhile (probably made more than 1,000 ON TARGET shots, lol.) Did I mention we saw 12 different communities(sub-divisions) or townships in SoCal and drove 1,000 miles in 12 days? Did a lot of shooting through the front window- like this one... My sis-law played tourguide - awesome experience... wish we could go back to L.A. and stay longer! We experienced so so much, but there is so so much MORE to Capture! We did not make it up to San Fran. Glad we drove to San Diego/ZOO though.

Smiling CHRIS
PS did you catch my meaning with this title?

  Will Do Arthur, THANKS...
Thanks John! I'm happy you love the title... I thought it would be fitting because of the two guys infront of the doors...ha! I was thinking either "Doorman" or "Sound Techs" but chose W & P's Place instead. God, if we could of only went in or even just WALKED AROUND THIS BUILDING to make more images... this is my drive by throu glass at the intersection on a red light...

WALT Disney and PHIL Harmonics. I got it Sis! WHAT DO I WIN????

A pair of GLARE GLASSES? girl smiley with glasses Pictures, Images and Photos

Well, I guess they took care of that. Isn't this amazing? I love it's history and you know it just goes to show we can make plans to build and spend big money to make something happen yet not account for what might result.

OH YES. I sure know about DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS! Dale used to hate to stop and let me shoot ANYTHING!! So many images were taken at 65 m.p.h.!!! (About 100 KM's!) I have learned where SPORTS MODE is for SURE! Lol....

Love it, Sister! Great job!!!

  Hahaha... Funny Sis.
Thanks for your great comments and I am glad you got it! Yep, shooting throu the front window/glass of a vehicle can be a 'petpeeve' But we have to do what we have to do, right! So, out comes the cleaning cloth-and words 'oh, can you go around the block' or GO SLOW! OR OH, DARN I MISSED IT! ThANK GOD for DIGITIAL!

A wonderful capture Chris of this very unusual architectural design. I used to work downtown LA next to this place but never got the chance to take a picture. Excellent info you've provided.

Wow, Chris!!! What a great shot of this building! I've seen others before, but this one is really unique looking! The two men give this image its perspective! The colour and clarity are fabulous! It would be so much fun photographing this famous landmark! Super POV and work on this one! :)
