Yes, the close cropping looks good here. And because you moved in close, we can be captivated by those great catchlights in their eyes. The flattering soft light and warm tones bring out the best in their skin and hair color. The pose is good too, their touching heads show a friendly connection and also make a lively "V" shape with their tilted eyes and mouths. Nice! The background adds atmosphere, but the glass and straw in the front right corner are distracting.
