Thank you for the comments. There are many "opportunities" to walk the edge in the Cascade Mountains with significant drops everywhere. As a rule, stop walking to look at a view and don't start walking again until you look down at your feet to confirm your surroundings (i.e., which direction is the cliff, trip hazards, etc).
