THE MAKING of 'Chasing 701': When working out what to do on the weekend, photographically speaking, two Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club mates and I decided to head off to the motocross races for the action, colour, noise and fumes of the day's race meeting. The warm ups were almost over when we arrived and as the seniors were up nest for the start of their heats I headed off to my favourite place down near the start where I can get a great view of the double jumps as the rides head down hill. As panning is out of the question at that angle I settled in for a series of freeze action shots using my Canon's continuous focus and high speed multi-shot functions. I nailed this frame on the first lap while they were still bunched up. Every visit to this track gives me a thrill and I have never come home empty handed. Getting multiple bikes airborne like this always makes it a special moment for me. Enjoy! GB

G'day *CARLA* & *CHRISTINE*!! So good to see you both leaning on the fence taking in the sights 'n' sounds of this hotly contested race. Carla: My problem is in selecting only the best of all the shots I made that day to upload to BP and the WEYG Club. Christine: I may be wrong but I get the feeling you think the background has been 'dropped in'. I assure you this is not the case. If I ever do any digital hokey pokey I will admit it in my narrative. What I did do was make selective adjustments to each bike and rider to get them to 'pop'. GB
