Photographing water lilies is an art in itself. I have shot sooo many and I've yet to bring home a winner. I don't mean a BP.com winner I mean one that really pleases me. Tell me the components that should appear in a good water lily photograph please. I can take your answer off the gallery if you wish. REGISTERME@EMBARQMAIL.COM

Hi Dick: I really don't have a recipe for a “ water lily photo winner”. I’ve also taken numerous water lily photos, and they seldom show their truly beauty. I prefer the photos that were taken in soft light, with a thin layer of clouds or even in a cloudy day. Also I like very much the photos I've taken with a soft spot light, as this one. Good depth of field is frequently a problem so, If I have enough time, I use a small aperture and a tripod. Thank you for your interest in my water lily photos!
