Curls and Swirls
These are green leaves of the water hyacinth plant. It belongs to the genus Eichhornia. Water hyacinth are a free-floating perennial aquatic plant native to tropical and sub-tropical countries, the Philippines included where this image was taken. They have broad, thick, glossy, ovate leaves and may rise above the surface of the water as much as one meter. Photo taken with Leica R Elmarit 28mm on a D300 Nikon 1/80 sec ISO 200 @ f8.
