What an amazing shape they are Carolyn. Can't imagine them growing longer and slimmer but I suppose they do. Actually I could not figure out what the background was viewing at full size but it is clearer from the mini pic that it is autumn coloured leaves. A very enjoyable shot!

Thanks so much, Kate - great to hear from you again!! Don't these bananas look delicious?!! Of course, they were much nicer when they had ripened!! [Mind you, in some places cooked green bananas are quite a delicacy!! ;o)] This particular variety of banana, 'Lady Finger', is a shorter variety than the 'Cavendish' that is most commonly sold in the shops here!! I'd say these ones pictured are full grown!! :o) Yes, the leaves you can see in the background are autumn-coloured leaves on our large(!) plum tree!! It's *badly* in need of some *heavy* pruning!! ;o/ The plums on it are very nice, though!! :o)
