Thank you, Daniella and Joy, for your comments. The Bougainvillea flowers are actually bracts, which I have difficulty growing as they need full sun and the most I have is 6 hours. I've seen the plants grow wild and overtake buildings and large expanses of highway when we toured southern Italy and Greece in 2006. They were absolutely beautiful and in myriad colors.
