Notes on the Photography: For this image, I chose a wide aperture (f/4.8). When shooting a macro scene with the sun right at the horizon, the wider aperture keeps the sun large in the frame – which I liked. A small aperture (say, f/16 or f/22) would make for a greater depth of field (more things in sharp focus), but the stopping-down of the lens makes the sun much smaller in the frame – not the effect I wanted in this case. So I went with the large aperture. With shallow DOFs, focusing is crucial, so I made sure the lens set the focus on what I chose as the most important area - the biggest and brightest dewdrops in front of the sun.
