Hmmm, Tony - you've given us a good 'whazzit' puzzle here, my friend!! I've not seen an insect like this around Lake Macquarie...or at the Botanic Gardens at Heatherbrae there either, for that matter!! ;o) I hope someone can help us, because you've certainly given us a great image for identification purposes!!
