Down River #1
Looking down at the Tsaina River in the down-river direction from the cliffs above the river. I got this by laying down along the edge of the cliff and holding the camera at arms length. The multi-angle live view on the R1 made it easy to frame the shot.

Wow, Gary - now that's just a fabulous 'bird's eye' view looking down into the gorge to the river!! :o) [It's obvious that you don't suffer from vertigo or acrophobia, my friend!! ;o)] I really like your diagonal composition here...and the light, textures, colours and depth all are exceptional, too!! I see that the autumn colours are about now for you folks!! :o) Was this photo taken recently?

Thank you, all. I'm glad you enjoyed this viewpoint!

Carolyn; I'm not as immune to vertigo as you might think. That's why I was laying down next to the edge rather than standing! Plus, I was looking at the camera LCD rather than directly down. To answer your question, this was taken approx. 3 weeks ago when the fall colors were still not fully developed. As of last night this view is probably mostly pure white!

Every month, with our camera in hand, we go out and find what we hope will be the “winning photo.”
Those of us that don’t get recognized, just continue to search for that special image, until one day the Congratulations come pouring in from some of the best artist and friends anyone could image.
So to the Better Photo winners for the month of September, I congratulate you on a job so well done.
My very best to all of you, Merna Nobile
