This almost-grown baby hummingbird was sitting on this twig. I was focused on her and then another bird came into the frame. I thought they were fighting. Lo and behold it was her mother feeding her! How awesome is that???? My reward for feeding the hummingbirds each summer. It makes me SO HAPPY!
Taken 9/6/10 in my yard. f/8.0, 1/500, 400mm. This won Viewer's Choice at GNPA Expo 2011!
