She is so lovely... I can imagine a new popular simile: "She's as Pretty as a Peahen in a Puddle!"

She really IS lovely, Ann!! If I was her, though, I'd be looking for a cleaner puddle to drink out of!! ;o/

When I looked at this image I thought of the saying 'puddleduck'...so instead maybe she's a 'puddlehen' - lol!! ;o)

Good on you Ann !! capturing this beautiful Peahen - how often do we see Peacocks in all their glory but your image shows how beautiful the Peahen is too. I can honestly say I did not realize that the Peahen is more of a green blue than a "peacock blue" hang on should that be "kingfisher blue" - fun aside a really wonderful capture !!

Thanks for your nice comments. Amanda, the peacocks and peahens are at a small wildlife park in our city which has free entry. It has mainly hens and roosters, two peacocks, three peahens, a couple of quirky geese, some kune kune pigs and sheep. I love going there. There is always something happening there that catches the eye.

How lucky you are to have a wildlife park so close Ann! A wonderful capture of this hen doing its thing! I don't think I have ever seen so much color on a peahen!
