Lost Dreams

Lost Dreams
When we first moved to the Austin area some 12 years ago, the area we moved to was considered "country"...large ranches and ranchettes were commonplace along my way to the grocery store.....but one by one, for various reasons, local ranchers sold their vast pieces of acreage to housing and commercial developers. This abandoned stable was once a very small part of an extensive cattle ranch. Abandoned for some years now, it's scheduled for demolition with a housing development and strip mall soon to be in it's place

Farm-to-Market Rd. 1431, Cedar Park, TX

What a gorgeous capture of the current sad reality. Wonderful dreamy impression of the leaves and the little barn. Exquisite.

I am so glad that you shot the barn before it was destroyed! Strip Mall no less! and you have captured it beautifully, Val. Your treatment is very cool and makes it look like a dream! (which I guess is all it will be soon).

It is like a dream, Valarie! I grew up in the country & scenes like this one are what I remember about my summers as a boy! I used to enjoy traipsing through the woods & discovering places like this. I can almost hear the rustle of the leaves & the buzz of the bees............ Ok, I better come back to the present, lol. What a scene to get lost in! Exceptional job on this, Valarie! This image will live on long after this beauty is no longer there!

Sad contrast. This is so much more inviting than another Walmart. Like the dreamy look you give it, Valarie.

oh I hate seeing old relics like this torn down and forgotten. So much history there. What a gorgeous image, the color and the treatment you've added are sensational.
