Anhinga
Anhinga anhinga captured in the wild at Lake Woodruff, Fla from a john boat with Canon 20D at 300 mm,(effective 480mm), ISO 400, F/5.6, 1/250 sec handheld. These darters are closely related to cormorants but have broader tails and much slimmer necks. They are good swimmers with web feet but their feathers are not waterproof and they are often seen drying them as seen here. They often swim with only their head and neck visible and are called "snakebirds" Comment welcome. Emile

Terrific capture of him drying his wings. This is a new bird for me too. Thanks for the information too, Emile!
