Thank you both. This illustrates the value of continuing to shoot, even when the weather is not good. Actually, as Shakespeare said, "nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so". The weather was actually good for photography although most people would not think so.

This was shot in Times Square, on a very misty, off-and-on raining kind of evening. My wife and I enjoyed walking around looking for interesting, colorful reflections in the puddles. This is my favorite of all the results.

I am looking forward to returning to New York this year. I hope it rains again :)

Great photo Jim!
I live in NYC, plan to visit Times Square To get some good night time photos adorned with abundant Neon light.

A general question about PS7 and digital manipulation I posted here because my email is currently malfunctioning.

How do you know when you have gone too far with digital editing?

I uploaded 2 photos pre and post digital editing-subject stone gate of Cent Park Bridge

How ironic; It's raining tonight. I just got home from shooting puddle shots in fact.
Jim, Autumn is a very wet time of the year in NYC in general and the foliage is beautiful too. I love the city on a nice crisp fall day..

Yes, I love NY and New England in the fall, too. I did not make it to Manhattan but I just returned from a week in Vermont. What a beautiful place to be this time of year!

Frank, good question - and an age-old question about artistic expression. I usually lean toward a "less is more" approach but others prefer to go more abstract. To me, it all just depends upon whether or not the image is making the emotional or creative expression that you want to make. And whether or not you are having fun in the process...
