Vantage Wildflowers
Sometimes I take photos with the intent of processing them further, this was one of those outings. Here’s a 3 shot sequence that was converted to HDR (high dynamic range). Taken with a tripod-mounted DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera set at ISO 100 and f/16 using a wide-angle zoom lens (12 to 24). Entered into the “Nature & Landscape” category. GPS: Approximate location, latitude 46° 57' 55.88" N, longitude 119° 57' 51.74" W. Keywords: Sunset, Landscape, Nature, Wildflowers, and USA.

Beautiful sunset and lighting guy. The only thing wrong with this image is that the sun is setting dead center in the middle of the horizontal frame. It might score better with the judges if it were to the left or right of center following the Rule of Thirds. I just took an amazing course from nature photographer Brenda Tharp called Creative Visions, which goes beyond the Rule of Thirds. She first looks at lighting, which you have already accomplished, then teaches different types of composition. I also recommend her book, Creative Nature and Outdoor Photography, which was written for film photography but is adaptable to digital. Brenda is very creative and gives excellent critiques!
