I see this just as Jack told me a big red male cardinal was fighting a sparrow at the feeder outside our window! So far we've been spared the snow, but it's on the way. This is a stunning photo -- Joannie is right, it would be a fantastic card!

Carol you sure did nail this one, the crisp color of the cardinal, the texture of the old fence post and the rusty barb wire, the snow is icing on the cake so to speak, terrific as always my friend.

I just love your comp on this one, Carol! The diagonal barbed wire with perfect placement of that superb looking cardinal - stunning! By the way, per Jason's question- I used the 100-400mm lens and was about 20 feet away but in the comfort of the living room- shot through the picture window.

Excellent composition, Carol. You totally nailed the focus on this. I love the snowflakes. They add a wonderful sense of movement. I also like the stark contrast of the cardinals color against the white background. Fantastic work... as usual.

Carol, how do you train these guys to pose so perfectly for you? Great job getting the catchlight, and he is in the perfect third of your comp. The diagonal wire is also a big plus.
