Call me stupid but it never occurred to me that being on a blue background, it could be interpreted that this hawk was captured while flying. In fact, he wasn't - he was sitting on the arm of his trainer with his wings in a flying position and I positioned my shot so that a blue background at the flight show became the b/g for my photo. I am truly sorry for any misinterpretation of my unintentional lack of explanation...I just didn't think!

Stunning close up of this beautiful hawk Valarie!! I'm pretty much in agreement with Candice on this one. I shoot a lot of Eagle captures, and to get this tack sharp detail in the face and especially the eye, is a very hard thing to do. Actually if mine were anywhere near this sharp I would be a happy fella. Flawless capture and fav for me. Hope we see this one again! Exceptional work!!
