Hey, John - this is an outstanding capture of these gorgeous Flannel Flowers...with wonderful light, point of view, tones, textures and composition!! :o) It's interesting to note that what we consider the petals of these flowers are actually bracts ("a modified leaf or leaflike part just below and protecting an inflorescence" - WordWeb) which surround the flower!! ;o) These webpages provide more interesting facts about this beautiful native Aussie plant:
