Laura, I do not know where these 600lb pumpkins went but they are grown for contests in the western US. I know of some that get over 1000lbs. They are a specialty pumpkin grown on pallets so they can be moved later by forklift. It all started years ago as a novelty with radiated seeds. Over the years they reproduced from their own seeds and now are grown for the contests. I guess they are edible because they talk about how many pies they will make..LOL..And that's the rest of the story..hehe
