Lol, Barbara - what a fabulous capture of this scene...and your title is perfect for it!! I'm looking forward to seeing Part 2!! :o)

Isn't this pretty much like us humans really?!! Some people do most of the talking...and some people mostly listen!! Lol!! ;o)

I actually uploaded Part 2 last night Carolyn - was sooo tired I got them out of sequence :-) The clocks went forward an hour over here, did you get much of the red dust ?

Thank you Amy

Appreciate both of you taking the time to look and comment

The title suits the capture Barbara. If you have the time to sit and watch seagulls they are really quite fascinating birds. I love watching their little antics. This one certainly has got a tale to tell. I'm not sure if the others are listening. You have captured a great moment Barbara.

G'day again, Barbara - no problems about posting these images out of sequence!! ;o)

Did you realise, though, that you posted the two of them within the same 24-hour period? If you were entering them both into the contest you might want to re-enter the latest one... (Daylight saving starting for you over there may have thrown out your timing!) ;o/

We start our daylight saving next weekend, and will then have it for 6 months!! ;o/

Last Wednesday the red dust here was incredibly thick - everything got coated with it!! :o( We had another dust storm on Sunday but, thankfully, it was nowhere near as bad as the first one!! ;o/ How much of our one last Wednesday did you get over there?

Thanks Carolyn I did just upload the 2 images without entering, then just entered the one - I do do some funny things late at night though, sometimes I look back at the errors in my typing.I am in Christchurch, South Island - we have been having a rainy time of it lately so no dust but apparently the North Island had a different tale to tell (ha ha) - Did you get any photos I don't know that I would have been game to use my camera even in a plastic bag as was suggested to me by a friend from Holland :-)

Oh by the way Ann Coates and I live not far apart, we met up, it was great to meet a fellow BP member so if ever you are over this way let us know.

Barbara, I remembered that you were in the South Island...and I thought that it was Christchurch, or one of the areas nearby to there!! :o)

That's great that you caught up with Ann, too - I was thinking that you two couldn't have been THAT far apart!! Have you both been out on a photo shoot together yet? ;o)

Thanks for inviting Phil and me to catch up with you (both) when we head to the Christchurch area!! That would be great!! We have been planning a trip over there for years...so one day soon we'll get there - lol!! ;o)

Phil visited both Islands of NZ with his parents when he was 16...and I was actually born in Tauranga, NI, but have never lived there!! (My parents had already moved to Norfolk Island to live before I was born!) ;o)

I've now lived in Oz for over 40 years...and have wanted to visit the SI of NZ for a LONG time!! Oh well, we'll do it...and the NI...sometime after Phil retires in less than 2 years' time!! As you can imagine, I have quite a number of rellies there!! ;o)

As regards the dust storms - I read/heard somewhere that the mountains in the SI would probably prevent the dust getting further across the Island!! I guess, though, that the NI doesn't have the luxury of that protection!! ;o)

I also heard that the bad dust storm last Wednesday was about 150 km (93 mls) wide, so that's why it took so long for it to pass over us...even though, I can tell you, there was a fair old wind blowing it along!! ;o/

I only got a few photo's looking across to the other side of Lake Macquarie as the dust was clearing from our side of the Lake!! ;o) I'm sure all that dust earlier wouldn't have done cameras ANY good at all!! ;o/
