Nice tracking shot with just a hint of blur showing the action. It works for me.

Thanks for joining me in trying this out Rita....it's fun to experiment! Very nice motion blur on this one...really gets me into the moment....not that I run unless I have to! LOL!

great motion effect...now when u were panning...did you have the setting on sport mode or just continuous focus?

Rita, I would love to know how you did this. I tried some shots like this at my church on Sunday. But everything was blurred. How did you get the kids sharper than the background? What shutter speed did you use?

Nice job Rita...I too would like to know what your settings were. I tried this for a class with my dogs running, but I know the settings were wrong because the dogs were crisp and sharp with no motion blur even though I tried panning. The same thing happened when I tried for the same type of shots with my husband and nephew running on the beach last summer....Guess I need a lot more practice!

this was fun the kids are begging me to do it again. first I was a good 25 feet from them and that allow me to let them start running before I took the shot which I was panning while taking it no tripod. this was my setting F/9, 1/30 sec, Iso 200, but I did have my camera set on shutter priority and I had good evening light on them. I found that if I gave myself room to start panning before I got to where I wanted the shot came out more like what I wanted. I attached one of my first picture, they were so quick I was almost missing them.
