Port Macquarie's controversial and recently opened Glasshouse Project is our new local Art Gallery and Entertainment Centre, built at a cost of over fifty million dollars. This shot is from the basement when during excavation old foundations were found of the original penal colony.Archaeologists preserved the remains and architects incorporated into the design.

Great capture, Brett, and wonderful history!! Perfect lighting, tones and composition!! Wonderful history too! I'm so pleased to hear they preserved the remains! We seem to be doing a little better at preserving some of our past! Too many old historic buildings have been torn down over the years!!

Wow! SENSATIONAL, Brett! This is stunning! A fave for me - and something else to watch for on Nat Geo or Discover! (Now and then they do have fascinating programs on Australia so I wouldn't be surprised if they feature this particular story! Did you know your Mega-beasts were all indigenous - not the same as ours, at all? Speaking here of the Pleistocene... giant kangaroos and all ??? ) Anyway, terrific shot!
