Here is another shot from Minaret Lake in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Left a film camera out here all night long just for fun and picked it up off of the icy slope around 4am. The tripod was wedged into the ice pretty well. Not a cloud in the sky this morning but it didn't bother me much at all. Light and shadow is all you really need in a place like this right? About 90 percent of the time I've spent backpackpacking the Sierra there hasn't been a single cloud out at sunrise, when it does happen your lucky.

Thanks for looking!!

While all of your images could be fairly labeled "exquisite" this one really stands out for me, love the composition! RB

Another breathtaking image Steve. As for missing the clouds you could aways visit my home state Florida. Especially during rainy season. The pastel colors of the tropics combined with the daily afternoon inland T-storms usually make for remarkable skies daily. For some places anyway, an incredible sky in one place could be a completely boring sky just a few miles away. Thats Florida for you!
