Remembering

	Remembering Dad, we know where you were 65 years ago, today as you stormed the beaches of Omaha with your brothers of the 29th Division. Thankfully, you came home alive, and lived to recount your many stories. Though you are not in our presence, today, your spirit is very very much alive in our hearts. We love you and miss you, but know that we'll be with you again one day. Thank you for your sacrifice! The photo of the beach was actually taken in 2004 when my husband and I were there around the 60th anniversary of the D-day invasion. After scanning the original photo, I cropped s bit. I then captured a photo of Dad's patch and merged it onto the photo through my software and added a decorative border. Thanks so much for looking at my gallery! Melinda B. Shiflet

It's unreal that no one has commented on this, Melinda! It is a fine tribute to your dad and the droves of others who served there. These are the kinds of images that stir me .. make my hair feel as though it's standing on end. Having served for 23 years 6 months and 22 days then doing another equal amout of time as an Army Civilian supporting soldiers in combat, well ... I just can't say enough or wave the flag high enough. Thank you for the tribute to your Dad and the ones who served and sacrificed. Your heart is truly in the right place, as is your talent! I commend you.
