Oversaturated? Nah... Not at all. It has a nice, 3D look to it. One of the beautiful things about working with color (especially in digital post production) is that you CAN alter the hue and saturation levels. I played around with the color levels of this image in Photoshop and I think you hit the nail on the head. Great work! BTW - This works really well in B&W too....
