Taken 3-8-09, 2:25 p.m. in my yard as the cedar waxwing prepared to eat a berry on the crabapple tree. Camera: handheld, Canon 55-250 mm IS lens set at 208 mm, evaluative metering, aperture priority (f/7.1), 1/1000, ISO 200 Edited with Adobe PSE7 (smart fix, lighten shadows) and then custom cropped in Picasa 3 Contest: Nature (March 2009) img 6144--pse7

AWESOME capture!! I have tried and tried to get ANY bird with a berry in it's mouth and have failed! Beautiful! I love the other shot of the cedar waxwing too. The clouds in it are just beautiful background.

You're welcome to come to my yard! The cedar waxwings allowed me to stand very near the tree to watch them feasting on the berries. They'll probably do the same for you. Just come any time that's convenient for you.
