Golden Cathedral

  Golden Cathedral
Golden Cathedral
Photographed at the Golden Cathedral in Neon Canyon, in the Escalante region of Utah in October 2008 with a Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200 zoom, on tripod, settings unknown. Image processed with levels, curves, saturation and unsharp mask in Photoshop CS. Morning light reflects from the red walls of Neon Canyon to create the surreal glow that illuminates this alcove.

Fantastic colors. The tiny spectator lends a size perspective of this massive rock structure.

Thanks Carol and Carla for you kind comments. The tiny spectator is your photographer. After the setup, my friend John tripped the shutter for me. I figure it saves me needing model releases! ;)

Stunning image. What a wonderful and unique place. The effects you applied are outstanding. You being in the shot really gives you a sense of just how big the canyon is and your settings were great.
