Incredible capture. I don't know how I missed it going through the finalists! (I guess I thought it was a blurry flower shot from the thumbnail.) The DOF is perfect for making the fly just pop out of the picture. BIG congrats on your winner!!

I can't express how honoured I am to have one of my images included along side the incredible works of the other Winners & Finalists! I can think of 20 or 30 other photos in this category that could easily take the place of mine up here (at least that many!) . I almost feel guilty!

Eric, I'm intimately aware of how small these hover flies are! I have some shots myself. I always think, "If only people truly knew!" I missed this. It's great! Love the color! My hover flies were around a rather bland flowering tree. :-)

Thanks, Karma. This was back before I had a Macro lens or a coupling ring. Life is a lot easier now without the 6 or so extension tubes and having to manually calculate exposures!
