At the highest part of the Peurivan Alto Plano between Cusco and Puno is this stop - a church and a handful of local traders.

Thanks Rolan and Brett for your comments. It's amazing how people eke out a living in such a desolate location.

Beverly- I read your bio and see that you have been on BP since May of this year. I also like to read about the people and get a feel for what they are like and where they live. Next I love to take a walk through their gallery to see the beauty they have to offer. You did not disappoint me. You may be new to BP but not to using a camera. I find your work fasinating, beautiful in colors, interesting in subject, percise in details. One of the other things you have done that amazes me is that you travel and we get to see pictures of places and people we would never get to. Your gallery is exceptional, your talent obvious. Beautiful work.
Now on to this picture. Excellent composition. The first thing that drew me in was the old world charm I find in these places and the textural quality of the picture. I also enjoy the old world meets the new world look when we see that train of more modern times in front of the old building. Colors are outstanding. Love the red rood and tops of the pillars. Marvelous details give us a feel for what it is like, and I find it wonderful that it still is being used.
Your work is phenominal, it is such a pleasure to meet you.
