Excellent portrait! Tack sharp, good DOF and what a sweet face. Just one little suggestion. I am a dog photographer and would recommend next time taking off the collar & tags or clone them out in Photoshop. I have forgotten myself to do just that and can kick myself when I get a good pic just like this. Keep up the good work!

John...You seem to be looking for trouble the way you've commented on several photos? I think this deserves to be finalist at least as much as many of the others I've seen! Actually I think this is very well composed with great warm lighting and a calm mood!
