Finalist
Submitted for thee PG101 X-TREME Effects Theme
You will see more of this house and girl -- I'm working on an image for the poster for a school production of "The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James. This is not my favorite angle of the house, but it's the one I chose to work on first.
Although I created the ghostly effect by layering a shot of the girl in front of the house over a shot of the house without her in it, her size and position relative to the house are as shot. I also layered in some free textures from TextureKing.com and applied filters from Virtual Photographer (also free) and Topaz Adjust (purchased). Mostly, I just had fun.

I do love spooky and I do love this, Nikki. Wonderful shivery, cobwebby feel with the textures and effects on this great old house. And her color and transparency against the house leaves us wondering about what is real and what isn't.

this is great and inspiring ! I'm planning another possible Vintage Theme for our local festival in the Spring/ finding a similar place like we have downtown and getting permission to use it for the booth background would be great ..

What a great photo! There is an old house like this in Nevada City, Montana, an old mining/ghost town about 1 1/2 hours from me. I photographed the house extensively in June, with something "ghoulish" looking using PS, in the back of my mind. Great job and imagination on this one.
