Thank you all for your nice comments. Nice to hear from you too Teresa. The male hummingbird wasn't here very long this summer. They say they sense the changes in pressure and move on when certain conditions arrive. We had two near hits this summer with hurricanes and my male friend flew the coop before Gustav arrived. I had an large umbrella set up in the midst of my garden, a tripod and an easy chair. They really aren't intimidated by you. Often they will come within 3 feet to have a look at me. Interesting and beautiful creatures.
