Maybe my brain isnt working, but where do you go to upload a picture to the contest???? My wish, would be, that I can upload directly thru my website,with the admin center on my own website, without going thru all these steps. Like I used to be able to do. Sounds like most people are happy with the changes, but I'm just getting used to the last changes. I feel like I've lost control over my website. I guess I have to re-think about renewing my website again. Please let me know how to upload to the "contest" page. Very frustrated!!!

Charlene, Dont be frustrated, it's just new. Not really a whole lot different. In your member center, under the "Better Photos" tab, you will find where it says, enter the montly contest here. You have 3 options. I think the Better Photo tab is the key. :) Mary

Hi Charlene, The method of entering the contest and uploading has not changed. There is just an additional tab in front of what used to be the first tab of your member center. If you go to your member center and hit the Betterphotos Tab, you will see the same tabs that were available before. Thanks-

I guess I feel like "if it ain't broken,why fix it?". I guess I just don't care for all these changes. I know it's to upgrade the site, etc., but I'd sure like to be able to do everything directly from my website. Not have to go thru all these different steps. It used to be so easy!!!! I don't mean to sound so crabby....or maybe I am crabby today. I'm an oldie but goodie at BP and always found it so easy to upload to my website and to enter the contest. I know BP is always striving to make things better. But it seems like there are so many extra steps!!! And my brain can't seem to get itself around the new changes!!!

I've noticed that you can also set a photographer as "a Favorite", if you use the BP Search Window, for the person's name... in the results that appear, click on one of those photos---you should see the "Add to my Favorite Photographers" link in the lower right. (ie, you don't have to just search through Recent Enties, or Editor's Picks.) So, I'd long since had some of my favorite photographers set up in my Internet Explorer Favorites---I just did a search on each of their names, clicked an image in the results, and added them to my BP Favorite Photographers...

I've only tested change photo order so far, and I want to applaud BP for the improvement! Now it is simple to group images together, and the complex need to number every image is a thing of the past. That system challenged my swearing vocabulary at times. :) Well done!

Hey Jim & Co & Co - thanks so much for the new features ESPECIALLY the drag and drop - you the BOMB!!! That was the biggest pain in my butt to do at one time! AND I love the 'favourite photographer' button - especially as Chris added me to his list - I'm SO flattered - thanks Chris :) You guys do great work for your community! Robyn, I had to laugh at your post. ;) It got me thinking, what ramifications (some tongue-in-cheek, some serious) there might be, with this new "Add to your Favorite Photographers" feature... 1. Someone adds you to their Favs, that you really kinda wish didn't 2. Someone adds you to their Favs, and you feel pressure to reciprocate, to be polite 3. You decide to remove someone from your Favs... does that person get a BP Message saying you've removed them? 4. Nobody adds you to their Favs list in awhile (or at all)... does that lead to as much Forum commotion as not getting a Finalist yet? I've set up a decent test handful in my Fav's---I still haven't figured out how I'll be notified, when any of my Fav people add a new image?

I really do love these new updates. Thanks again BP! For some reason there are times I click my gallery and the thumbnails are small. But then I'll check it again and the thumbnails are back to normal. Is anyone else having this problem too?

LOL Nobi, I'm way past being a teenager - thats maybe why I didn't think of Chris's questions! LOL But I was trying to add him (take a bow Chris), and couldn't find the button on his pix - i've done it now another way, but need to check it out again. I'll keep the happy pills close in case no-one selects me again :)

Just for the record... for better or for worse, my teen years are far behind me, too. However, my line of questioning was driven more by what I anticipated seeing in the Q&A forums before too long, than by any fears I've got over my own Favorites or lack thereof ;) Robyn, glad you figured it out... it is weird that the "Add to Favorites" link is simply not an option on EVERY photo you ever view---rather, just on photos that you view via Contest wins, or the EFP, or a name search results list...

Susan F....Yes! When I click on the "View Gallery" in my Member Center, it shows small thumbnails. If I click my regular link that I've sent up in my Favs, the thumbnails go back to the larger size. That's odd. Hey, can I sit at the cool lunch table, too?!!! LOL, Nobi, Robyn and Chris! :) As far as I can tell, you just have to check daily to see who added you...and then it does seem polite to add them to your Favs. Really, I'm not that picky because I feel almost anyone's photos have some merit...but I always was a nerd. ;)

Kerry, When I entered a photo in the contest tonight, the screen that pops up tells me I have already entered a photo in the contest today. I double checked and everything worked fine, but that screen instead of a "success" screen will be confusing to many.

Happened to me yesterday and today, too! I deleted my photo yesterday and entered it today, and got the same screen. I checked today and it had actually gone through. But I missed out on entering yesterday because that screen threw me off. :(

Yes, that happened to me too last night and the night before! I checked and found the photo I had entered so I thought I must have accidently entered it on upload and that is why I received the message when I tried to enter it. It is confusing, and I am glad to know it wasn't just happening to me.

Chris, all the ramifications you listed re: the "favorite photographers" are things I thought of, too. (And I'm a 50-year-old who can barely remember her teens--thank gawd!) Good for you for listing them, because they *will* be an issue, to varying degrees, for many of us. I think it's just that the online world is a much more "sensitive" place than the "real" world, because we only have screen text to rely on ... it's hard to know what people feel/mean, and as a consequence, small(er) things become larg(er) in cyberspace. And to be fair (honest), I think this applies more to women than men. ** she says, ducking rotten tomatoes** Having said that, I love the new changes but I only learned today that there was already *was* a way to sort photos--albeit a much more time-consuming way! I wondered how some folks had all their finalists in one place! lol

There is one thing I am wondering about. On the welcome page in my member center, it says "Keep track of your favorite BetterPhoto photographers, being notified when they upload new photos". Has anyone received notification on a photo? If so, does it come to the mail in your member center or to your email address? And is there a place to turn this on because I have not received any notification that my fav photographers have uploaded a new image. Thanks! And I love the new favorites feature, and the photo sort is wonderful!! I only sorted mine 3-4 times the old way because it took forever!! Thanks BP!

I am loving the new features too. But no I am not notified if my fav photographers enter an image which for me is the main reason for having a favourite photographer. One of my favourites doesn't have time to go through his gallery to display less than 300 pics so unless he sends me a link to his new pics I miss them. I hope this is just a glick and we will be notified soon.

Like Kate - and others - I love the new features too. But I am not notified either when my favorite photographers enter an image :-( Is there a "tab" at "My Member Center" I have overlooked ??
