Inserting the copyright symbol and PS7

Can some one please tell me how to insert the copyright symbol into my photos so that it shows up put doesn't take away from the photo (i.e. one of the lower corners).

Todd, There are a couple of threads on this subject; try a search on signatures and/or copyright symbols.

I recommend you open a new document in PS; transparent background and about 2" x 4". Using the text tool, enter what you want to appear as your signature and copyright on the new document. After you get the signature like you want it, go under the edit menu, "define brush." Give the brush a name, i.e. 2005 signature, and save. Your new brush will show up at the very bottom of the brush drop-down list. Just stamp it where you want it placed. If you don't like what you see, "go back" and resize or choose a different color.

I used a script font already in Ps that closely resembles my signature. The copyright symbol is entered by alt-0169 (hold down the alt key while typing the numbers. Take a look at my gallery or deluxe gallery at www.backbayscenes.com for examples of my signature block on photos.

Now, to your question of not distracting from the photo: I find the best way is to use the eyedropper tool to select a color from the particular photo that complements the photo and has enough contrast to show well where you enter the brush. Finally, don't make it too large.

Hope this helps.

John

  Hey John,

It worked. Thanks. I had a little trouble with the brush part but I can make it work. I checked your website. Nice work. Sorry you guys got hit so hard by Katrina. That was a once in lifetime event and you guys got pounded.

Todd

I know this question is a little old, but I saved it so I could reference it when I needed it and I must say that this little trick is TOO COOL!!!!
Thanks John so much for sharing!

if only it would just automate itself on to a batch of photos instead of having to stamp each one...but I guess we can't have it all!
