Minolta has a $300 film scanner. See their web site. Nikon has a good one for $600. I have found that projecting slides coats them with a nasty layer of dust and crud that just about ruins them. Scanning, however, is a long slow process; you must be committed to long hours at the computer. I do exactly that for my best slides and negs, but scanning them all is just impossible, as I hold down a daytime job. You may find a lab that will scan your slides and put them on CD, but it won't be cheap.
