need digital camera with great red eye reduction

I am looking for a new digital camera to take family pictures. With my blue eyed children, I need a great red eye reduction feature. (On my film camera, the red eye doesn't always do the trick). I'm looking for the best photo resolution possible in my price range ($300-400). Suggestions?!?

Any camera, digital or film, with a built-in flash is going to give red-eye. To eliminate it you have to use an accessory flash that mounts the light farther from the lens axis, and/or has a tilting head that enables bounce flash.

  Hi Alissa.

As always Jon is 100% correct, use an off-axis flash (it does not need to be far off axis) or bounce off a WHITE ceiling or wall.

Failing this (if you are digital) it is a trivial job to remove the red-eye in Photoshop (or most other editing software).

Good luck
