Focussing Canon 300D

How is the best way to make sure the eyes are absolutely focussed using Canon 300D digital camera? (known as Rebel in U.S.) I find it hard to focus accurately children on the move.

It is always hard to focus on the child's eyes with ANY camera when they are moving. There are ways that you can try. First set your camera to use just the top focus point for focusing. If shooting vertically (and you flip your camera counterclockwise), use the rightmost focusing point. The eyes are usually on the top 1/3 of the screen most of the time. Also using only one focus point may focus faster (so the camera won't hunt for anything to focus). Then use a small aperture (large f number) like f5.6 or f8 to ensure any point of the face is in acceptable sharpness. Another way is to use the Al Servo mode on your camera and follow the child's movement. However, I am not sure if the camera use only the center focusing point in Al Servo mode or any focus point you selected. Give it a try and let us know if it works.
