Buddy Purugganan   Matt, the Canon EOS 300D is a splendid choice---and there are quite PLENTY of fine digital cams with sweet features too: the Fuji FinePix S2 Pro, Minolta Dimage 7Hi, the Olympus E-20N,Fuji FinePix 3800, Sigma SD9 and Sony CD400 or Nikon D100!Check Digital Liquidators (, the Camera Source ( One Call ( ).

An excellent site to read up on would be

There can easily be ten to 20 review pages on just one camera. You could cover a lot of ground by going to the end of each review to see the overall conclusions and pros and cons of the test shoot. I have enjoyed the Nikon Coolpix series (I've owned the 5000, 5700, and now the 8700).

A possible plus going for the Coolpix series is that you get alot of bang for the buck, and the one lens that comes with the camera is high quality (on the 8700, it is about 35mm to ~240mm). Very portable too (17oz).

Best of luck to you, and be safe :)
