camera purchase i live in south africa and if I buy a camera in america is it a good idea or should I buy one in south africa. buying overseas would be less expensive, but with the disadvantage of not having the seller in this country. what do you think? I am very interested in the canon rebel 300d as I have a canon eos and the lenses would be compatible with the digital.

Most of the time, if there is a problem, you would not use the seller anyway(with the exception of the #days return policy). Check to see where the repair shops are for the camera you want, then make your decision.
