how to use a 35mm with lenses

i am going to buy a 35mm with lenses and the place I went to showed me the one that the local college uses for their classes so do you have a camera class or should I just get a book (can you recommend one) or use what comes with the camera and take your beginner class? I want to take pics of my dogs and babies at work both are small and I need to get really close some of the babies are like 1-2lbs I would like detailed pics for the parents thanks

Susan, Please check out the website of PhotoGraphic magazine ( www.photographic.com ). Request for " The Book of Photography"---its available and not so expensive. ( Inquire for price and shipping) It is a highly recommended book for novices and professionals alike. Enjoy your recent discovery of photography. In taking pictures of your babiesfind camera lens with macro function ( a flower icon usually is indicated in most 35mm AF cameras so when you buy manual focus better ask your dealer for macro lens capabilities)---Have fun!
