flash connection

I recently bought a bronica etrsi, and have tried to shoot some images with flash packs and I tried portable flash too. The problem is the flash does not fire at all. I have tried different sync cables, flash packs etc. And still the flash does not fire.

can you give me some clues to what could be wrong.

could be the little pin is not touching against the sides of the pc outlet.
Sometimes if you rotate the sync cord while shooting pictures, you may find a spot that will set off the flash. That just means you're not getting good contact.
There's a tool that's made to bend the pin on the sync cord so you can always get it to make contact with the outlet. But I've done the same thing with an old school type can opener. The kind with the curved point end that leaves the triangle shaped opening in a can.
Just stick the pointed end into the male end of a sync cord and gently bend the little pin to the side so that it will always touch up against the pc outlet walls.
