Photography Question

Tammy L. Odell

How to photograph small children?

Is there an easier way to take a portrait of small children? I take a lot of pictures for parents with small children who can't sit still or look at the camera. I have tried noise makers and all that, but that doesn't always work. The pictures still turn out OK, but not what I'd prefer. A lot of my clients are not into the new style of candid pictures of their children just being children. Does anyone have any advice on this problem??

Well Tammy it really surprises me that people do not want photos of their children just being children. I worked for one of the top leaders in photography and am a certifited pro photographer and specialized in small children. First off they are best captured right after a nap and being fed if they are babies. I found on small children the simpliest things will keep their attention. a feather duster or boa, a soft voice getting down to their level and just playing with them so they get used to you first will make the session go better. If I can be of anymore help please email me at Errinton3@aol.com
