  Hi Ronald,

"Photoshop 7 Bible" is a really, really in-depth book I recommend. For quick answers geared toward photographers, I'm using "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby. The 2nd book is "follow these steps to get this result", whereas the Bible gives you a thorough understanding of why things do what they do.

Hope this helps; I know it's tough going on one's own.

Virginia

  Hi!

I recomend you the "Photoshop 7 WOW! Book", it´s an in-depth book that I found really helpful. The first chapter is more about Photoshop basics, but the rest of the book helps you get the most out of Photoshop. Some people say that this book is not for newbbies or begginers.
For months I looked for Photoshop books´ reviews and the one that I found best was this one. If you want, go to http://www.amazon.com , there you can lots of reviews about any Photoshop book.

Hope that this helps you, good luck! :)

  Hi Ronald,
I have "Photoshop 7 Down & Dirty Tricks.", this is also by Scott Selby. This one focuses alot on lettering and print work that would be geared more towards layout and advertising. It has a lot of awesome tricks and is very exact as far directions on how to acheive the look the author has created. Photoshop books are rather pricey this one is $40.00, most of them go up from there.

All of Scott Kelby's books and videos can be found at www.photoshopuser.com. This is Scott Kelby's PS site. There are lots of other books, videos and CDs you can order. I suggest signing up for a membership to the National Assoc. of PS Professionals (NAPP), which is the parent site of the photoshop user web site. Membership affords you access to both sites, plus the CS pages, and also a lot of freebies and discounts on many other products. You'll also get the PS User print mag, which is pretty good. I like the video-shorts tutorials -- very helpful when you need help fast.
