Sepia Filter

When I use a sepia filter with B&W film do I have to tell the developer? How many stops do I need to compensate to get the effect of the filter?

A sepia filter attached to the camera lens is intended to be used with color film. Black and white film records only black and white, and shades of gray. A sepia filter used with b&w film will act in the same way as traditonal b&w filters (yellow, green, orange, red,...) - making like colored objects appear lighter/white and opposite color objects darker/black. Sepia toning of black & white images is a chemical process applied to the print.

Alternatively, a sepia filter can be used on the enlarger to print a black & white negative onto color paper.

So if I want to have the pictures come out with a sepia tone I would have to tell them when I take the film to be processed?

Thanks
