Converting Prints to Slides Any suggestions of a cost effective way to convert my prints to slides? Having them done at a lab costs between $1.00-$2.50/print. I've tried retaking with slide film, but I keep getting reflections and shadows.

The best way I know, is to use a copy- stand type of setup with incandescent lights at a 45 degree angle, and shooting straight down to the print with the sharpest lens you have that can compose the entire image. Use a tungsten-balanced slide film,( or daylight film with a blue 80-A correction filter), to eliminate color shifts. You will still get reflections...(especially with glossy prints), but they can be softened a little with some sort of diffusion material over the lights. (I've even used an old tee-shirt stretched over my copystand lights.) Keep in mind that you will loose detail and clarity when you create these second generation slides.
