Photography Question

Developing digital images online

I recently got a digital camera, went on vacation and took hundreds of images that I want to print. I was looking into online services for this, but after talking to some people about it, I realized that some places (although cheaper) provide terrible photos and took an exceptionally long time to upload and receive. What's a good (picture quality-wise) and inexpensive way to develop digital images? Is it better to go to a local lab and upload them that way, or are there some good online services that provide good quality prints? I'm only looking for images in the 4x6, 5x7 range. I also have a photo printer, but I can't imaging printing hundreds of images on it... Thanks!

  Hi, start with the following:

shutterbug.com
ofoto.com

good prints cheap! Plus you usually get your first 10 prints FREE!

Thanks for your response! Since posting this question, though, I sent 13 of the same prints to 8 different online photo developers and found Ofoto to have the best prints (although they were some of the more expensive and longest to upload). Winkflash is one of my faves, though, since it's only 18cents a print, you can get both regular sizes and digital sizes for the same price, and they upload super quick. The only drawback for Winkflash, though, is that they print on Fujifilm paper and flesh tones turn out on the pink side. But Walmart was the worst, Costco (picturecenter.Kodak.com) was pretty bad, Snapfish were ok but not great, Ezprints was expensive and slow to upload, Shutterfly had nice prints but were pricey and DotPhoto had bad looking prints. Ofoto was best for flesh tones and Winkflash won out for price and speed. Thanks!!

They both print their names on the back... the great thing about Winkflash is they also print the title of the photo that you uploaded it with. So, if you're sending in hundreds of photos (which I eventually did), I could find it on my computer really easily since the file name was on the back. Winkflash also puts your name on the back. I'm not sure about the ofoto (all the ones I've received are now in photo albums), but I know that 'Ofoto.com' is on the back along with some other numbers. Hope that answers your questions!

I have found that the local walgreens has good deals on printing digital photos. I find the quality just like 35mm film that I take there.

I tried that too but it cost me more than sending them to many of the online places. And it was a little more complex in terms of how to get the photos there in the first place (especially if I wanted to do any Photoshop alterations). But thanks for the response! I'm still on the lookout for a better deal...
